CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY POLICY

Purpose

Henceforth (referred to as “Company Driving Emirates”) affirms the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy (the "Policy"). EDC is committed to integrating best CSR practices into its corporate values, business operations, and decision-making processes.

The Policy supports EDC’s efforts to actively enhance societal and environmental well-being while creating value for its key stakeholders, managing related risks, and aligning with relevant global principles as well as Abu Dhabi government and UAE Federal policies and initiatives.

The Policy defines EDC’s key CSR pillars and objectives, as well as the governance structure overseeing the CSR strategy. EDC will continuously review this Policy to ensure it remains up to date with best practices. Unless otherwise stated, this Policy applies to all areas of EDC's business operations.


CSR Principles

The Policy is aligned with EDC’s mission to empower communities by promoting responsible mobility, fostering safety, and managing environmental impacts.

In addition, it aligns with EDC’s vision to become a leading social mobility player, leveraging collaboration and innovation to create a safe and preserved environment for thriving communities.

The Policy supports eight objectives under three key CSR pillars:

  • Promote employee health and well-being by nurturing a safe workplace.

Pillar 2: Inclusive Communities

  • Improve accessibility and the quality of life for vulnerable populations.
  • Promote accountability, transparency, and respect for human rights, as well as ethical behavior.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion by promoting local young talent and women’s leadership.

Pillar 3: Green Communities

  • Enhance environmental sustainability by promoting circular economy principles.
  • Accelerate the transition toward a low-carbon future through the adoption of clean technologies.
  • Promote eco-friendly practices to encourage sustainable mobility behaviors.

CSR Enablers

EDC’s CSR initiatives are supported by four categories of enabling activities:

1. Volunteering

Through volunteering activities, EDC employees are engaged in promoting sustainable and positive growth within communities.

2. Donations

EDC helps community non-profit organizations to achieve their objectives with the support of charitable donations. Internal Capacity Building Through internal capacity building, EDC helps develop dedicated teams with the knowledge and skills required to effectively execute CSR plans and programs as well as to evaluate and report on the initiatives and their impacts.

4. Private-Public Collaboration

EDC amplifies CSR activities through collaboration with community non-profit organizations and government stakeholders who often possess specialist knowledge and experience that enables them to leverage fundraising, sponsorship, or employee volunteerism more effectively.

To ensure we create maximum value for all stakeholders through our CSR initiatives, EDC is committed to setting and achieving ambitious targets and KPIs. We have clearly defined processes and procedures in place to monitor and measure our progress. As part of our commitment to transparency, we periodically disclose progress on our CSR initiatives to stakeholders, including in our annual sustainability repor

Responsibilities & Roles

1. Executive Management Team is responsible for championing CSR principles and ensuring they are embedded into the corporate culture. A CSR-dedicated team will oversee the policy's implementation, regularly assess its effectiveness, and recommend enhancements as necessary

2. Department Heads and Managers are responsible for implementing CSR practices within their respective areas of responsibility and ensuring that employees are provided with appropriate training and awareness to enable CSR implementation. Employees at all levels are responsible for participating in CSR initiatives and considering CSR implications in their daily tasks
